Our FIRST DATE!

Congratulations to all of you for participating in the FIRST's gathering of UTM Toastmasters Club of the year 2015 last Wednesday! Thank you for rockin' the day!

The theme ; First Time. Therefore, I would like to share all of the FIRST TIME moments we created together!

It was my FIRST time applying the particular body wash, body lotion and perfume combination on that
day. Haha, it didn't affect the gathering but at least, it was something I did for the FIRST time! :P

My day was started with a big smile after Dr Asiah told me that the word of the day is EXUBERANT. It
was my FIRST time feeling energetic and freshened up by just looking at the meaning of a word! Before
the meeting started, Nina, my guest said, "I wanna come even I need to leave early. Because I am
attracted to the word of the day!" It was my FIRST time having a guest because of the word of the day!

It was the FIRST time for UTM Toastmasters Club members listening to Deshon's (Sacred Heart TMC)
speech evaluation. His evaluation make me believe more that it is not a must for a good communicator to be shameless (like me, hahaha..) but a shy and soft person like Dr. Zaleha can be a very good communicator & leader. Because we are Toastmasters!

It was Fadzly (CIMA TMC) FIRST visit and helping us as ah-counter. And he said, it was his FIRST time seeing a compact with information agenda of a Toastmasters club meeting.

It was the FIRST time Ayu performing as Competent Communicator with her very creative and motivating Table Topic session & compact speech evaluation!! It was my FIRST time thinking about, say no to iron-man's-house for my dream house after listening to Bachan's speech about smart house. Ops!

*I know I want a house like Hansel And Gretel. Not the smart house. hehehe..*

After few visits to UTM Toastmasters Club and other clubs, it was Rachel's FIRST time receiving the Best Table Topics Speaker ribbon! Congratulations!

It was my FIRST time witnessing Dr Raja as a theater actor during his Table Topics session. After missing Prof Sarah for few months, she attended the gathering and I had a big and tight hug from her, and for the FIRST time people hug me and said, "bestnya!! macam Dunlop!" I take it as a compliment! ahahahaha...

It was our club's FIRST time having a cute hello kitty box for ah-counter collection. Thank you Ayu! Happy MEOW year!

And Helmy helped the meeting a lot by being an effective SAA for the minimum-prepared-TME,  a busy Ain cantik with the thesis. Hehehe.. So it was my FIRST time as a TME with minimum (or I can say zero) reminder needed to any role players during the meeting because everybody were effective!




I don't want to comment anything about our madam President, Dr. Zaleha. Hahahaha...! Dr! Peace yo! FIRST time naugthy? Naaah.. I always like that.

Thank you to everybody, and congratulations! As I mentioned in the beginning of the meeting, it is fun to set or have at least one thing to be done for the FIRST time every day. You will feel the excitement of the day. And feel grateful with every single achievement of the day, especially when it is the FIRST TIME. You will see how wonderful your life is. Celebrate!!!

OPENING SPEECH – 2^nd April 2014-04-17

The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.

There are three achievements of this club that I would like to highlight.

First, on 10^th of March, we organized our own CLUB International Speech & Table Topic Contest. I am not sure about you but for me I can feel the different for sending our club member as a VOLUNTEER in Area Contest AND as a CHAMPION of our club contest. After managed to have the 1^st Runner-Up in Area A2 Contest, our Champion, Koh Meng Hock will be contesting in division level. The Division A International Speech & Table Topic Contest will be held on 6^th of April in Sunway College, Tebrau.

Second, on 17^th of March we had the Mini Evaluation Workshop, facilitated by Bin Yuen, and I believe we learn a lot to be a better speech evaluator, not only in Toastmasters meetings but also as a better person when giving feedback to others in our daily lives. Do you agree with me? So, congratulations to all of you, you make the workshop a success!

Third achievement, we have three new members in March; Norliza, old member coming member because of her believe in Toastmasters Journey, Aisyah, a tutor, an enthusiastic friend of mine, our strong supporter who make us having this comfortable meeting room, the cheerful Prof. Sarahaida. I believe, with these three new members, we will have more beneficial meeting, more fun and all of us will improve better. The more is the merrier! 

Ladies & Gentlemen, March 2014 was so special, finally it was ended by our treasurer, Dr. Zaleha successfully renewed our memberships with Toastmasters International. I believe most of us already paid Dr. Zaleha our fees. For those who haven’t, please see Dr. Zaleha later to communicate. Dr. Zaleha, thank you for taking care of our membership renewals. 

Today, we start having meeting on 1^st and 3^rd Wednesday of the month. This decision was made after a survey with questionnaire created and analyzed by Meng Hock, and with cooperation from all members answering the survey. Hope this change will refresh all of us, become more enthusiastic Toastmasters.

And finally, in this special March, two beautiful creatures celebrated their birthday. 1^st, was Dr. Asiah and also myself. Hehehe..
